1) Hello there! Why don’t you introduce yourself? You can use your penname if you have one.
Eliza Hampstead
2) Can you, for those who don't know you already, tell something about yourself and how you became an author?
Hi! I’m Eliza, a scientist by day and author of spicy fantasy romance by night. I’ve always loved storytelling, but it wasn’t until I published my first book (The Nephilim’s Fate) that I truly considered myself an author. The idea came from a single scene—steamy, forbidden, and filled with tension—and I just had to know what happened next. Writing quickly turned from a curiosity into a full-blown obsession.
3) What do you do to unwind and relax?
Give me a strong cup of tea, a long walk in nature, diving with turtles, or relaxing at the beach watching the sunset. Sadly, I can’t do that all the time—so I settle for curling up with a good book, especially if it features enemies-to-lovers tension or a deliciously morally grey hero.
4) Describe yourself in 5 words or less!
Curious, passionate, stubborn, loyal, dreamer.

5) What are you passionate about these days?
Sustainable living and climate action. I believe deeply in making conscious choices for the future—whether that’s plant-based eating, minimalism, or supporting green policies. It’s not just about reducing my carbon footprint, but setting an example for the next generation—including my son.
6) Which of your novels can you imagine made into a movie?
All of them! But if I had to choose one, it would be A Code of Knights and Deception. It's cinematic by nature: a modern scientist trapped in medieval England, falling for a brooding knight while questioning reality itself. Think Outlander meets Black Mirror, with a broadsword and a twist of forbidden love.
7) Where did you come up with the names in the story?
Most names are historically accurate for 15th-century England. I studied noble family trees and records to match the tone and status of each character. Sophia, being modern, stands out intentionally.
8) Are your characters based off real people or did they all come entirely from your imagination?
Sophia is heavily inspired by myself—her voice, her logic, her stubbornness. Others are composites of historical figures like Richard or Lizzi, who were the Earl and Countess of Warwick in 1401.
9) If your book had a candle, what scent would it be?
Oakmoss, old parchment, leather, and a hint of sea salt—earthy, mysterious, with a breath of wild air.

10) Anything specific you want to tell your readers?
Yes—this book is more than a love story. It’s a question: If you could choose between the world you love and the one that loves you back… which would you pick? I hope it stays with you long after the last page.
11) Do you read yourself and if so what is your favourite genre?
Yes, I read daily—it's a huge part of my creative process. My favourite genre is spicy fantasy romance with a strong emotional core. I love anything with forbidden love, enemies-to-lovers, morally grey characters, and immersive worldbuilding. Give me witches, vampires, or time travel and I’m in heaven!
12) What made you want to become an author and do you feel it was the right decision?
I became an author because I had stories I couldn’t not tell—scenes would play in my head until I wrote them. Publishing that first book made it real, and yes, it was absolutely the right decision. It’s the most challenging, fulfilling, soul-stretching thing I’ve ever done.
13) Do the characters all come to you at the same time or do some of them come to you as you write?
Usually the protagonist and love interest arrive fully formed—complete with tension and secrets. Side characters evolve as I write, often surprising me with their depth. Sometimes the villain ends up stealing the spotlight (Victorija in The Nephilim’s Fate, for example) and demands a story of their own.
14) What’s the most difficult thing about writing characters from the opposite sex?
Writing men who feel real without making them emotionally flat or too idealised. I try to dig into masculine vulnerability—what they won’t say. It’s a balance of strength, fear, and love. Sometimes it helps to visualise the scene from their body, not just their thoughts.
15) What is your book’s genre?
Dark Time Travel Historical Romantasy
16) Pitch your book in one sentence.

17) Can you share with me your book’s blurb?

Swords of Time Book 1
Sophia - I thought I was trapped in history. Turns out, it’s far worse than I imagined.
I woke up in 15th-century England, a brutal world where women are silenced, superstition rules, and survival depends on obedience. Trapped far from my husband and son, nothing makes sense. I’m a scientist, not a damsel in distress, so I did what I had to—I disguised myself as a man and trained with Henry, the castle’s master-at-arms, learning to wield a sword to defend myself.
But as I carve my place in this world, my forbidden love for Henry shakes everything I believed in. Do I fight to return home—or surrender to a future I never imagined?
Yet, I can’t shake the feeling that Henry is hiding something—something that could shatter everything I’ve fought for.
Ethan - What if the woman you’re supposed to observe becomes the one you can’t live without?
I never meant to fall for her. She’s fearless, brilliant, captivating. Every lesson, every stolen moment deepens the lie—and my guilt. I’m not the man she thinks I am. That my name is Ethan, not Henry, is the least of the lies I tell her.If she learns the truth, I’ll lose her forever. And time is running out.
*Warning: strong language, steamy scenes, and graphic violence inside. Mention/Description of, but not limited to, abduction, blood, death, amputation, childbirth, death, sexual assault, suicide, violence against children, rape, and torture.*
The book is the first in a duology and ends with a cliffhanger.
18) Can you tell me a little bit more about yourself?
Eliza Hampstead, a scientist by training, lives with her family in the UK. When she's not writing, she spends her time as a geek. Playing all sorts of games (board games, video games, RPGs) and being a big fan of medieval history are only a few of the many hobbies she has. Passionate about fantasy, she’s always planning her next adventure.
