Write Your Way
1) What is your Author name; use your Pen name if you have one.
Leanda Michelle
2) What is your genre and what drew you to it?
Memoirs, psychology and philosophy are my genres. I love the themes a writer can play with to enhance the storytelling of true accounts. The memories are woven together and become the most exquisite tapestry, yet are only a portion of the authors life and often a significant piece of a larger jigsaw puzzle. It’s beautiful how the reader can grow with the author and transcend difficult aspects of their lives. What drew me to writing this genre were some of the difficulties I encountered, and feeling the pull to explore the cathartic process that writing offers.
3) What is the best time of day for you to write?
I write any time of the day, sometimes in the middle of the night, depending on when I feel drawn to say or express.
4) Which character of yours is your favorite and why?
I don’t have a favourite character. For me, every character is an aspect of myself and a curious image to discover more about.
5) Which character of yours was the most challenging to write and why?
I guess writing about some aspects of yourself are more challenging than others… probably, writing about what I perceived were weaknesses: naivety, stubbornness, anger, greed… all humans have these traits… only to discover they were never me.
6) Have you ever taken a course on writing or advertising? If so, which one(s) and how would you rate them?
I enrolled in a Diploma of Professional Writing & Editing and completed the year-long course some years ago. While I felt it helped me find my voice and presented the rules and structures, I wouldn’t recommend it as the more you write the more you find your voice, and own way of conveying a story anyway.
7) What is your favorite part about being a writer?
Playing with words. The excitement that comes from writing poetic prose that is as deep as it is rewarding and understand life from a fresh perspective is a gift.
8) Who would you cast as your most recent Main Character if your book became a movie or T.V. show?
Sandra Bullock or Julia Roberts would be exceptional as my stand in for all of my memoirs.
9) Do you read books in your genre, or do you prefer reading other genres?
I used to read books in my genre and several other genres, but in recent years I haven’t felt drawn to read any other authors books as I simply want to write myself.
10) Where is your favorite place to read?
My favourite place to read is outdoors in nature.
11) What book protagonist would you love to talk to if he/she/they were real?
All of mine are real, at least to me they are.
12) Name one book that you have reread several times.
All of my books when editing them! Haha!!!
13) What is the name of your book/series? Tell me a little bit about them.
The Love and Belonging Series entails 4 memoirs that follows Leanda’s physical and spiritual journey in search of finding her voice and the numerous life experiences she lives. Each book embraces a theme, whether that is love in its purest form, sound, music, nature’s elements and what freedom looks like, you can be sure to resonate with her humanness and feel uplifted by her storytelling. In her latest psychology and philosophy book, Knightsbridge, she shares her experience of crossing the bridge from the old ways of living on Earth to the new as a multidimensional being.
14) Do you have a website? If so, what is it?
15) Where can we find and follow you? (Name your social media platforms.)
16) If there anything important that you would want my readers to know about you?
I say to any new reader, my books can be read as standalone or in any order. The cover stands that stands out to you will be the book you are ready to read as each carries a particular frequency. Thank you sincerely for investing in you when you read one of my books.
This should be an excellent novel. Thanks for sharing. Commenting as Michael Law.
