Líf and her family have traversed Jötunheim, the realm of giants, and survived. Yet many men in the disgruntled Viking band were not as fortunate. Worse, their inglorious deaths have forfeited them the chance to enter Valhalla. And those that remain are sullen and quick to anger.

Their quest to save humanity is based upon one man’s warning. An outsider. An escaped slave. And one who shares a gift similar to Líf’s. But Líf is growing weary. Loyalty to her family and its undertaking has waned. Her sister’s status has been discredited. Her brother’s authority is in jeopardy. Her own safety is in question.

Nonetheless, affection blossoms. Líf clings to a glimmer of hope and a glimpse of an unexpected future. But this new world harbors its own threats. A hunt has begun. Are they the prey?

This is the fifth novella in the series and was released recently. I've spent the past week and a half reading the whole series and I'm not happy. I have to wait until WHEN for the next book?! AHHH, I need more. Like, every book in the series, now.. more. It is seriously addicting, yall. This is the first Viking series I've read and she has written a beautiful story. I feel like it's original, well-written, and a fascinating plot.
The story of course continues where the last one left off, with them moving into another realm, continuing their journey. There is some romance in this one, which had me super excited! I am currently holding my breath for the next book though, cause I need some answers on a few things! Seriously though, this is a really good novella series (books of course will be short). So if you haven't read it yet, you're missing out. I definitely foresee myself doing rereads of the series, waiting until the next one.

I love this series! This book picks right back up where the previous one left off as Lif and her companions travel through the other worlds. As with the whole series, this novella is well written and exciting! It’s a quick easy read and it’ll definitely leave you wanting more. I know I can’t wait for the next book! The world of Vikings is fascinating with all the mythology and especially the fylgur. This one adds a bit of romance which was very enjoyable. You have to read this series in order otherwise you’ll be missing out on lots of the story.
